Travellers departing Singapore on November 2 experienced significant flight delays after a disruption in the passenger processing system. The issue, which lasted approximately two and a half hours, affected multiple airlines operating from Changi Airport. The system, used globally by several carriers, experienced an unexpected technical problem that slowed down the processing of passengers.
The disruption caused delays of up to 90 minutes for some flights, with airlines working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Officials at Changi Airport confirmed the system was restored to normal operation after the disruption. No safety concerns were reported during the incident.
This is the second known incident involving the passenger processing system in recent months. A similar issue occurred earlier this year, leading to temporary delays at several international airports. Experts suggest the system, which handles passenger data and boarding procedures, may be vulnerable to technical glitches. Airlines are now reviewing their systems to prevent future disruptions.
