Fifty-one children and two staff members at two Ministry of Education (MOE) kindergartens in Singapore were diagnosed with gastroenteritis, according to a government statement. The outbreak occurred over a two-week period in October 2026. Health authorities confirmed the illness was linked to food served at the facilities. The implicated catering company, Deli Hub Catering, has suspended its operations pending an investigation.

Samples from the affected meals were collected and tested. Initial findings suggest contamination may have occurred during food preparation. The MOE has launched an internal review of its food safety protocols. No fatalities were reported.

This is the second known outbreak at MOE-run kindergartens this year. A similar incident in March 2026 led to a temporary closure of one facility and a review of vendor contracts. The current case has prompted renewed calls for stricter oversight of food suppliers in early childhood education settings. The government has not yet announced further measures.
