Singaporean long-distance runner Shaun Goh set a new national record in the men’s half marathon category at the Valencia Half Marathon 2026. The event took place in Valencia, Spain, on March 21, 2026. Goh completed the 13.1-mile course in a time of 1:04:58, surpassing the previous record of 1:05:12 set by Soh Rui Yong in 2022.

Goh, 28, ran the race as part of his preparation for the 2027 World Championships. His time was the fastest among all competitors in the men’s category. The Valencia Half Marathon is known for its challenging course, featuring steep climbs and a final stretch through the city center.

This marks the second time Goh has broken a national record this year. He previously set a new record in the 10K at the Singapore Sports Festival in January 2026. The Valencia race attracted over 10,000 runners from 50 countries, making it one of the largest half marathons in Europe.

Goh’s achievement highlights the growing competitiveness of Singaporean athletes on the international stage. The Valencia Half Marathon has become a key event for elite runners aiming to qualify for major championships. With the 2026 edition now in the books, attention turns to the 2027 World Championships, where Goh hopes to continue his streak of record-breaking performances.
