The 18th edition of the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon returned to Dataran Merdeka on Saturday with the IHH 10km race. Tens of thousands of runners filled the streets of downtown Kuala Lumpur, marking the return of the event to its historic starting point. Muhammad Haziq and Mercy Jebiwott emerged as champions, completing the course in record time.
The IHH 10km race, part of the KLSCM 2026 program, attracted a large crowd of participants and spectators. Organizers reported a significant increase in participation compared to previous years, highlighting the growing popularity of the event. Muhammad Haziq, a local runner, won the men’s category, while Mercy Jebiwott, an international athlete, claimed victory in the women’s race.
This year’s edition of the KLSCM saw the return of the IHH 10km race to Dataran Merdeka, a location that has hosted the marathon since its inception.
