A former Singapore Airlines steward, aged 44, has died after a three-year battle with Stage 4 lung cancer. The man, who had worked as a leading steward, passed away on October 23. His cremation was attended by about 40 to 50 friends and family members.
The deceased had been diagnosed with lung cancer at an advanced stage, which made treatment challenging. Despite efforts to manage the illness, his condition deteriorated over time. His passing has prompted reflections on the nature of life, with one message shared online stating, “Life isn’t measured by how long we live.”
This is not the first instance of a Singapore Airlines employee facing a serious health challenge. In recent years, the airline has seen several staff members deal with chronic illnesses and other health issues. While the company has not made public statements about this case, it has previously expressed support for employees undergoing medical treatment. The incident highlights the personal struggles that can accompany professional careers, even in well-established industries.
